Environmental standards

Pindar and all three of its businesses - Pindar Graphics, AlphaGraphics and Pindar Set are committed to continually improve on its environmental activities and will attempt to avoid or control its pollution.

Pindar Graphics now holds ISO14001, the standard used to manage the impact businesses have on the environment, at its Aylesbury and Tewkesbury sites and an Environmental Management System at Scarborough which conforms to the 14001 standard.

Both Pindar Set, AlphaGraphics UK and the Uk's Franchises hold the ISO14001 standard.

Pindar Graphics' three main printing sites now have FSC chain of custody certification, Scarborough and Tewkesbury also have PEFC chain of custody and our Preston site is going forward for PEFC certification later in the year. 

By using certified paper, we believe that our customers can now have confidence in the fact that environmental impacts resulting from paper use are relatively benign upon the forest environment.

There are several ways that we monitor our efforts including the use of Management quality reviews, auditing, health and safety meetings and team/operations meetings.

Pindar has recently undertaken an Environmental Audit to assess its current environment initiatives, share good practise and highlight opportunities to further develop a sustainable environmental performance across its businesses. 

However we are very aware that this is a starting point. There is much more to do as we move forward into our five year change management programme.
