'Pindar AlphaGraphics' supports local community projects in the US

Pindar has been working alongside the Community Boating Center, which is a non-profit, recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. On Tuesday 13 June, we hosted a hands-on learning activity day for youth sailors and free public youth tours of our 50 ft racing yacht, 'Pindar AlphaGraphics' in Providence, Rhode Island. Pindar-AlphaGraphics is a state of the art Volvo 60 class racing yacht originally built as the NewsCorp entry in the 2001/2 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race. Our dedicated visit to Community Boating Center will also include a special opportunity for select CBC inner-city youth sailors to enjoy the return sail to Newport in preparation for the yachts participation in the 2006 Newport to Bermuda race.
John OFlaherty, Executive Director of CBC commented: Community Boating is honored to host this impressive racing yacht. We greatly appreciate the generosity and expertise of team Pindar in helping provide engaging after-school programming to Providence inner-city youth. Chairman of the Pindar Group, Andrew Pindar commented: Were thrilled to bring the yacht to Providence to support this worthy initiative. As a company, Pindar is committed to introducing sailing to as many people as possible and we are delighted that members of the local community are able to join us on board as we prepare for the Newport-Bermuda race. The Newport-Bermuda race began on the 16 June, Click here to learn more about this sailing event To learn more about the Community Boating Center please contact John OFlaherty at 401-454-SAIL (7245) or visit www.communityboating.com
