New Women of the Year 2005

Hilary Lister, Pindar-sponsored world record quadriplegic sailor, has been nominated as one of New Woman Magazine’s Women of 2005. “They’ve inspired us with their bravery and moved us with their courage” the magazine says, “She rocks.”

New Woman’s recognition of Hilary’s achievements in this month’s magazine follows her recent win at the Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards, where she was awarded the Helen Rollason Award for Inspiration.

Hilary was delighted to have been nominated by the magazine, “Fulfilling my dream of sailing the Channel solo has meant the world to me, and I really hope that I have inspired other people to follow theirs too. I was thrilled that New Woman wanted to put me alongside other such amazing women, who have all achieved so much. It’s been a very special year for me and I am so pleased to have had such a wonderful team behind me, people like Emma Richards and the guys at Pindar, who have helped to make my dream become a reality.”
