Donald Russell, founded by Scottish farmer William Donald and Master butcher John Stone (whose family traded under the name Russell Meats) was set up in 1974, supplying meat to the trade including highly reputed restaurants and hotels in the UK and worldwide.
Today Donald Russell supplies kitchens all over the country, from London's top Michelin-starred restaurants, to the homes of our many satisfied customers. Donald Russell's range of premium meats now includes the finest free range pork and poultry, genuinely wild venison, game birds and seafood, and even gourmet specialities, lovingly hand-prepared by our experienced chefs.
Because of their premium brand and reputation, including their appointment to Her Majesty the Queen, it is really important that Donald Russell has the communications collateral that promotes the quality of its products and maintains brand integrity.
Pindar has started to provide print services to Donald Russell over the last year and has produced 6 catalogues to date with the next one due in the next few weeks.
Print runs of the A4 catalogue vary from 80k to 150k copies with approximately 56pp text and a 6 page cover to incorporate the order form. The product is currently saddle stitched and delivered to a third party for mailing.
Because the catalogue is illustrating food, the printed product is colour critical. Donald Russell use high quality imagery to show its food product range so it’s important that we work closely with them to ensure the final printed product creates a desire from the consumer to buy.
Pindar supply GMG proofs for sign off and ensure the photography is reflected to best advantage in the paper used, ink coverage and colour reproduction achieved. Our Pre press team has also been able to offer advice on colour as well as file supply and creation of pdfs to ensure Donald Russell can achieve the results they need with a web printed product.
“Since first placing work with Pindar, we have found them to be very knowledgeable and are happy with the level of service they have provided for us,“ explains Margaret Reynolds, Marketing Support Supervisor. “They have been very accommodating and their close attention to detail throughout the production of our catalogue supports our aim of showing off our products to best advantage.”
“Donald Russell is a good customer to work with,” explains Customer Service Team Leader Paul Riley. “They appreciate what we do for them and the flexibility we have been able to offer to help them hit their deadlines.
“I have enjoyed playing a part in helping them to develop their catalogue.”
