Our Achievements
As a company, we are known for the strength of our achievements which range from our investments in cutting edge technology and employee training through to being awarded for our efforts within the printing industry. We are pleased to highlight these achievements.
Ever since the opportunities unearthed by the technological revolution in 1970s, we have maximised our competitive edge by adopting the latest technology.
Historically,
- We transformed our processes by introducing image and text databasing, helping Pindar secure the hugely important contract for the typesetting of Yellow Pages telephone directories for BT.
- We were the first printing business in the UK to install a web large format 48 page A4 press and one of the first commercial web printers to be 100% Computer-to-Plate (CTP).
Our investment in software and electronic media has placed us in a strong position enabling us to respond quickly to the creation of new opportunities. Our strength in new technology has always been notable; but we also adopt a marketing and customer-led approach to transform the business of communications. Our vision for business is to provide a stream of integrated services, which has added value through our ability to partner with our customers.
As innovators within the catalogue industry, we have also made extensive investments in equipment and technological developments in our pre press, press and bindery operations.
We are committed in investing in the training and development of our employees. This is implemented through the various training and development programmes across the businesses, from online training with new software to apprenticeship schemes, NVQ training initiatives and tailored induction programmes for new recruits.

PrintWeek Customer Service Team of the Year 2007
The Group scooped the prestigious Customer Service Team of the Year Award at the 2007 PrintWeek Awards, as well as achieving runner up in both the Catalogue Printer of the Year and Consumer Magazine Printer of the Year categories.
BPIF Company of the Year 2007
Pindar scooped two awards at the BPIF Excellence Awards 2007 winning the UK Company of the Year and Corporate Social Responsibility categories.
Top 50 Yorkshire Printers 2006
Pindar has achieved and retained 6th position in the Top 50 Yorkshire Printers, which was listed by turnover in the business supplement of the Yorkshire Post.
Sunday Times Top 100
Pindar was named one of Britain's top 100 private companies with the fastest growing profits in the Sunday Times PricewaterCoopers Proft Track 100 league table.
Supplier of the Year
Pindar Graphics won the Supplier of the Year award at ECMOD's award ceremony 2005. This is the largest and the most influential exhibition and conference of its kind concluding with a prestigous awards evening. The ceremony recognises excellence within a highly competitive catalogue, e-commerce and multi channel sector. The award was presented to us in recognition of our work with Welconstruct.
Superbrand
We achieved Superbrand status when we were awarded with the title of super brand for being the strongest in our particular sector. Our strength in new technology has always been recognised but it was also our reputation in adopting a marketing and customer-led approach.
Top 500
In 2005, we achieved the impressive fifteenth position in the survey of the top 500 printing companies in the UK, which was conducted by PrintWeek magazine. The leading printing industry magazine conducted the comprehensive survey to recognise the excellence in printing in the UK.
People in Print
Pindar received the People in Print award for people development at the inaugural Print and Paper Europe 2004 event
People Management Award
Pindar Set's approach to multiskilling, team working and twilight shifts led us to success when we won the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) People Management Award in 2000.
