    The Arctic Tern

    According to recent findings, by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, in Greenland, Arctic Terns will fly more than 50,000 miles annually between the Arctic and Antarctic, the longest journey for any living creature according to the research. It was Life President, Tom Pindar, who three decades ago chose this athletic little bird to represent Pindar and replace the heraldic lion from a family crest. It works in harmony, is loyal, returns each year to the same mate and nest site and is peaceful unless its territory is threatened by a predator when it fights back fiercely.

    Boat owner Andrew Pindar on Iran's release of yachtsmen

    The Team Pindar-backed yacht was sailing from Bahrain to Dubai to take part in the Dubai-Muscat Offshore Race, when they apparently mistakenly strayed into Iranian waters. Andrew Pindar, chairman of Sail Bahrain and co-owner of the boat, said as far as he knew the crew were fine and were sailing the boat slowly.

    On 25 November, Sail Bahrain's Kingdom of Bahrain Volvo 60 racing yacht was stopped by Iranian navy vessels, as it was making its way from Bahrain to the start of the Dubai-Muscat Offshore Sailing Race. The boat may have strayed inadvertently into Iranian waters.

    Congratulations Hilary Lister

    Congratulations to Hilary Lister, who yesterday became the first quadriplegic woman to sail solo around Britain. The 37-year old Team Pindar ambassador, from Canterbury, completed the 1,600-mile journey and arrived into her home port, Dover yesterday evening.
