About the Awarded Photograph

IAA - Lamborghini

"I wanted to go back to old school brilliantly lit car photography that was prevalent in the 80s and 90s. Today production values have become so accessible that most modern car shots reply heavily on overproduced computer generated scenes. I wanted to strip it back and let the quality of photography do all the talking. This shot for me is all about the controlled lighting emphasising beautifully designed Italian lines."

"My approach to my image making is that of traditional methods and techniques that are incorporated at the time of capture and not being added as a postproduction element.  I constantly strive to produce the best possible imagery and to deliver images that will get results for my clients, and to this end only use the highest quality digital capture backs available and have a strong emphasis toward exquisite lighting. I have had a very rich and rewarding career as a photographer over the past twenty years and wish to continue long into the future." - Bryn Griffiths

Technical Information: Car captured on 110mm lens, F22 @ 1/30 sec.  Huge white flat at the back of the car reflected the light from right hand side. Small spots pick out the detail such as the exhaust etc.
