Leading retailer becomes multi-site customer
We are pleased to announce extra business worth £850,000 with Express Gifts, a major catalogue and online retailer.
Part of Findel plc, Express Gifts now commission us with the production of 50 different catalogues, including 12 under the Studio and Ace brands per annum, each of which contain 260 pages.
Our established seven year relationship with Express Gifts started at Tewkesbury and as part of the agreement will now provide additional catalogue publishing from our Scarborough and Preston locations.
Our business with Express Gifts has nearly doubled to £1.85 million under the new agreement and now utilises the firm’s unique printing capabilities across the country.
Additional business will utilse the Lithoman III short grain web offset press in Scarborough which offers competitive pricing for customers through waste reduction and greater economy in its use of paper.
And the dedicated new cover press at the Preston plant helps to ensure that Express Gifts are provided with catalogue covers of a consistently high quality and accuracy which increase the impact and longevity of each publication.
Andrew Dalton, Chief Executive, said: “Express Gifts operates in an industry where catalogues are crucial to driving their online ordering business meaning flexibility in the production environment is imperative. We can offer shorter production lead-times in a cost effective manner while improving the quality of catalogues by using resources across our locations.
“Express Gifts became a Pindar customer when we acquired the Cooper Clegg business at Tewkesbury. They are now benefiting from Pindar’s wider print capabilities in both Scarborough and Preston which has enabled us to significantly grow the business with the customer.
“Each of our sites has unique selling propositions for customers and Express Gifts, along with a number of other clients, will benefit from concurrently utilising the resources we possess across our UK sites.”
Express Gifts sells a diverse range of products including leisurewear, electrical, household, textile, bedding, furniture, nursery products, gifts and greeting cards, through its catalogues in print and online. The business has seen online ordering double to 40% in the last three years driven through its catalogues.
